Postcard from John Peel
in 1968 after he'd begun working for the BBC and founded his own label, Dandelion
Records, named after his hamster - pictured on the card. 'Pig' was his early
nickname for Sheila. The tape mentioned (Ego Iuvenis Sum) was a daft rendition
of the Who song I'm A Boy sung in Latin by my school choir 2 years earlier. |
